2010 DEBUTS & SIGNINGS at MoCCA Fest! Dark Igloo to debut BOOOM! hero & villain mashup tees, a white tee mashing-up 10 good-guys, and black tee mashing-up 10 bad-guys. One of each will be raffled at the MoCCA Official AfterPARTY. Rick Parker will be showing some of his drawings from his comic strip Deadboy and will have some prototype copies of his two new books available at MoCCA Fest. One book is called Matchbook (Drawings 1988-1990) and the other book is entitled, Deadboy (The Somewhat Odd Adventures of a Boy, a Dead Guy a Wisecracking Raven and a Worm). I'll also have some drawings from The Pekar Project and will be conducting a workshop on "How To Create Cartoon Characters". Matthew Underwood "Logan" from Nickelodeons Zoey 101 will be at table ACT/F27 signing autographs all day from 12pm - 6pm (both days). Sam Costello will be debuting the Special Limited Edition of Split Lip Vol. 2. The book offers 160 pages of disturbing, intellectual horror stories featuring art by Sami Makkonen (Hatter M vol. 2), Anthony Perruzo (Zuda), John Bivens (Comic book Tattoo), and Jason Ho (Agnes Quill). The special limited edition includes a previously unpublished story and a new cover by Shane Oakley. Fantagraphics Signings and Appearances: At Table C8 Nik Moore's new linoleum, silkscreen and stencil prints will grace our table. Keith McCleary will be premiering the horror anthology "ZombieBomb!,"and will have copies of his heavy metal one-shots, "Exodus: Death Begets Death" and "I AM BECOME GOD," as well as some of his earlier work. Nathan Schreiber will be debuting his 2009 Xeric Award-Winning graphic novel "Power Out" at Booth E22. Rodeo is the emerging comics company from Turkey. The first in Rodeo's series of graphic novels was Minus Eighty, which introduced The Bear Rider, the renegade of a snowy distopia created by Yalcin Didman. The second, Zombistan -the movie adaptation of which is in the works- is by the young Cem Ozuduru. While creating short RodErotic comics for the Turkish edition of FHM magazine, Studio Rodeo is currently preparing a collection of horror, crime and fantasy stories. A leaflet with brief excerpts in English from Rodeo comics will be ready for MoCCA Art Fest 2010. Cool Monkey Press will be premiering the third issue of Grizzly and Caticus. All three issues will be available for $10.00. There will be an alternative cover for issue #3. Comics scholar Kent Worcester debuts "Words and Politics: From the Pages of New Politics' (New Politics Associates), a collection of interviews and profiles with cartoonists. Allan Dorison, the creator of the hit web comic Grasping at Straws, co-founder of S.A.C., and the Hair Club for Men, brings you the best zines and minis from the finest artists in New York City: all for only 50¢! William Ayers will be debuting To Teach: The Journey, In Comics, and signing with the artist, Ryan Alexander-Tanner at the Teacher's College Press table. Fantagraphics will have signing at their table: Al Columbia, Gahan Wilson, Dash Shaw, Michael Kupperman, Nathan Neal, Kim Deitch, Esther Pearl Watson, Sara Edward-Corbett, Jon Vermilyea, Miss Lasko-Gross, Hans Rickheit, Jaime Hernandez and Derek Van Gieson. Vertical, Inc will be premiering Twin Spica, Volume: 01 by Kou Yaginuma, Ode to Kirihito, Part One, Ode to Kirihito, Part Two by Osamu Tezuka, and Nintendo Magic by Osamu Inoue. Hope Larson will be debuting her new young adult graphic novel, Mercury! NBM will be premiering A Home for Mr. Easter by the incredibly talented newcomer Brooke A. Allen.
